My close friend and collaborator, Lindsay Abromaitis Smith, was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 30. As this degenerative disease swiftly compromised her mobility, Lindsay asked me to create and build an installation environment in which she could perform. Bloom allowed Lindsay to communicate the way this fatal disease was transforming her physical and spiritual relationship to her mortal body. Bloom premiered at 5 Myles Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, in 2014.
